The Young Israel of Fort Lee is open to the public and warmly embraces all congregants and visitors, recognizing that everyone is on a unique path towards spiritual growth. The synagogue will forever be committed to serving the community through the Orthodox practice of Judaism, while appealing to a diverse group of Jews regardless of their affiliation. All are welcome!
Its membership is accomplished and diverse, including professionals, rabbis, businesspeople, scholars and homemakers alike, from all walks of life and all parts of the world. Many are Holocaust survivors possessing great sensitivity to the challenges Jews have endured throughout history, and are dedicated to the continuity of Israel and the Jewish people.
The congregation is at once a place of diversity and commonality. Members have history and origins from all over the world – from as near as the greater New York area to Eastern Europe, Israel and even the Far East. All who attend share at least two things collectively: roots in Judaism and a home in Fort Lee.
Education Committee - Lunch & Learns
Whether heavy snow, high wind, rain or simply cold, 25-35 members of our shul have consistently braved the elements, come to the event, enjoyed the substantive lectures, each other's company, and lunch.
This photo is meant as a metaphor to give each of you a good idea how four (4) consecutive monthly Lunch & Learns have been valued and supported by our congregation.
